JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Looking up at the Japanese zodiac animals on the ceiling. This is the Year of the Tiger.

This canal that we walk over leads back out to the Inland Sea.

Margie in front of a cherry tree at the entrance to the temple grounds where the Hikari Market is held every 4th Sunday.

Closer view of the pale pink cherry blossoms & darker pink buds against a blue sky.

It's about noon, and most cars have already left the parking lot. There was only one parking space when we arrived. This market starts very early in the morning, but we're never in a big hurry to get here.
