JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Clock tower across from Nagoya Castle.

Beautiful building downtown Nagoya.

After checking into our hotel & watching the opening day of Spring Sumo on Japanese TV, we walked down the street to find a place to eat dinner. We ended up in a restaurant upstairs from a sushi bar & we shared everything, starting with this great salad. Yes, that's a soft-boiled egg on top.

Tuna (magaro) sashimi - maybe the best we've had? Oh, and it looks like my wine glass needs to be refilled . . .

And a perfect roasted fish. At first we thought it was a flounder (flatfish) but it was something else, butterflied open & then cooked. See how the tail is twisted? Crispy & delicious!
