JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Enjoying the Holidays Around Iwakuni

Construction frogs are still near the Hwy 188 bridge going into downtown Iwakuni.

Cute kids in the L-Style Cafe downtown. Whip out a camera & out comes the peace sign! I like that way of thinking . . .

Happy me!

Cute silverware & dishes used by the kids who sat near us.

Our coffee & cake set . . .

Yum - oops - someone already took a bite of the chocolate . . .

I love the dishes here! Look at the cool shape of the cup's saucer . . .

Inside the Nishiki River Gift Shop and Restaurant - beautiful New Year's arrangement.

Presents wrapped with camellia decoration - the winter flower of Japan.

Stan & friend . . .

Back outside - Stan found some gigantic "apples" hanging from a tree. While we were inside, we kept seeing excited families gathering and posing for photos here.

Driving on Rt 2.

Passing Sanzoku - the famous "Chicken Shack" near Iwakuni. All decorated for the New Year.

And the outside of Panda Recycle Shop, where we always stop - never know what treasures you will find here . . .

We're looking for a low wood table, but found lots of mirrors inside . . .

This car is "Freed" - we really liked the individual yellow lights that make up the turn signal. Haven't seen new US cars recently, so don't know if they look like this . . .

I like these very colorful mirrors at Nafco - our friend Julie is looking for some.

I like these colorful "Happy Buckets" as well.

Available for many uses!

Anyone need a portable dishwasher?

And LED lights can be used all over the house. Just think how much one could save on energy costs!?!?!
