JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Monte Beer - Downtown Iwakuni 6/11/11

Stan in our parking lot near our building's bicycle parking area. We're riding our bikes downtown to eat dinner tonight.

Someone is fishing on the pedestrian bridge as we ride across. The bridge to the right is the higher "new" bridge, but this shortcut is an easier way to ride.

This is where we get back onto Hwy 188 going downtown after our shortcut. Green frog construction barriers are still up, marking the construction area approaching the Hwy 188 bridge. As always, click on any photo to enlarge, but be sure to arrow back to return.

That's Stan in front of me riding on the sidewalk downtown Iwakuni. We were planning to eat at a restaurant near the entrance to the covered shopping area, but when we stopped there, it was full - no tables available.

So we crossed the street & found this new place - Monte Beer - I think it's where Granpa's used to be, but it's been gone for several years now . . .

This looked like an interesting place & they had a large list of domestic & foreign beers available.

Mine's the Heineken & Stan's is the Guinness. Kampai!

And their photo menus are HUGE! with American-style as well as Japanese entrees. We usually eat Japanese, so maybe we'll try something different.
