JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Colorful flowers & trees alongside Hwy 187 as we pass through a small village.

Short carved tunnel. The sign reminds us to watch for pedestrians . . .

Solid rock on one side & drop-off to the Nishiki River on the other. One must really pay attention to the road! Thank goodness for the slower speed limits . . . usually 50 kph on highways, which is about 31 MPH. But the upside is that you get to really enjoy the spectacular views and my pictures turn out well!

Stopping for the automated one-way construction barrier.

Oh - we still have a long time to wait: 1:14. Think this system would work in the US?
