JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Hiroshima Flower Festival 5/4/2010

It's Tuesday afternoon and we're riding our bikes over the old (pedestrian) bridge to Iwakuni Station after school. Someone told Stan about a flower festival going on in Hiroshima, so we decided to check it out. Tomorrow is Friendship Day (5/5) and those cars & busses on the "new" bridge (to our right) are actually parked & waiting to get on the air station early tomorrow morning.

That's Stan ahead of me on the bridge. This is such an easy way to get downtown. And it really doesn't take much longer because of traffic.

Oh look at this cool set of cement stairs going down from the neighborhood street into the river. When we get to the end of this bridge, we take a left and get back on Hwy 188 to go to the station.
