We're standing under the giant stone torii gate at Tagata Shrine. It's very cloudy today, but no rain yet.
Oh the parade must be close - another photographer tells me that's a TV helicopter overhead.
It's getting more and more crowded as the front of the parade is visible. This event is always held on March 15 in Komeki Town, and today is a Monday. We're told it's MUCH more crowded when it falls on a weekend day.
A Shinto priest throws salt to sanctify the pathway, and some of these women have caught some.
