JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Stan chatting with a Japanese cowboy. He just stood in this same place for hours!

We're taking a short rest on a relatively smooth stone wall. AND it's a "no smoking" area - yay!

These really cute young teachers came by to visit with us for a while. They asked me to take pictures of them with their cameras, while they ate their "special" bananas, but by the time I remembered to take one of them with mine, they were almost finished. They are teaching in Japan for only 2 years (near Tokyo, I think) and were having a good time.

Prayer messages for the gods being tied onto this string wall.

This man was very proud of his Marine jacket and insignia & we attempted to communicate for a while. He enjoyed practicing English & we enjoyed practicing our very limited Japanese . . .
