JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Driving west on the expressway in the rain - back toward Iwakuni. It's about 8 hours, including stops every 2 hours.

Detailed sign posted next to the toilet in a rest stop. This is a fancy toilet: bidet for 2 different areas and the music note button is for an electronic flush sound to protect one's modesty . . . some of these toilets even have dryers! The best part is the seat is always heated in cold weather!

Beautiful fresh flowers in the women's bathroom.

Driving in one of the many tunnels. That's a movie to the left & above our driver's head.

The rain has gotten very heavy now and the traffic is slowing per instructions from overhead electronic signs. Wonder how well this system would work in the US . . . ?

I thought all the different colored lights made a pretty picture. The bus was very comfortable, so it was easy to sleep. We arrived back in Iwakuni about 1 AM. Great trip!
