JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Sunday Drive to Hikari

Driving beside the golf course on base. No, it's not flea market Sunday today, but we saw an ad for plum viewing at Kanmuriyama Park near Hikari, so that's where we're going. Stan & I have been there once before but it was a different season, so we're looking forward to seeing the plum trees in bloom. They look a lot like cherry blossoms, but each cherry petal is shaped like a heart, where the plum is not. They're both very fragrant though.

There's MC Perry Elementary, and the HS is right behind. We're going to pick up Nancy & Eldon. They live in the building right next to the high school. How convenient . . .

Outside the back gate, lotus fields are flooded and being prepared for spring planting.

Driving along Hwy 188 in Iwakuni as we head south toward Yanai & Hikari beyond.

Look how pretty the sea is today!
