Meanwhile back in Japan . . . it's the first Sunday in January -- pretty early in the morning & we're off to Yamaguchi today with Bob & Gerry and Eldon & Nancy. We haven't been to the Yamaguchi flea market in a couple of years. I know, I know -- we just went to the Yanai market last week, but this one is different. It's a REALLY, REALLY big one . . . It's a beautiful fairly clear morning as we cross a bridge.
Driving near the Kintai Bridge. The clouds are low this morning.
Gerry & Bob (driving) in the front seat of the rental van. It's cheaper to rent a van (especially when there are several of us to share expenses) because the tolls are included free with the rental. It's pretty expensive to travel on the expressways in Japan, but they are VERY nice & much faster than traveling the regular highways. Yamaguchi is about 2 hours away by Sanyo Expressway. The sign tells the driver to turn on his headlights inside the tunnel. Must be a long one . . .
