JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! There are always different balloon "sculptures" here on this corner near Iwakuni Port, as we head northeast on Hwy 2. Today it's Santa . . .

and a purple music note, among other things. Imagine the time involved in making these!

Ah, there's the Otake You Me Town. It's a very large department store with grocery store on the first floor. But we're headed for a large "Home Depot" kind of store called Nishimura Joy, which is behind it. Sachi needs cat grass & they usually have it here. Then we're headed to Kiki steak restaurant nearby, for Christmas dinner. It's a huge 4-level log-cabin.

In the parking lot of Nishimura Joy with Deo Deo (electronics store) behind it.

Inside, we see lots of goodies for keeping warm this winter. They sell the boots and the battery warmers that go inside to keep your toes from getting cold. It's a little weird to be shopping in a Japanese store on Christmas Day and listening to American Christmas music playing . . .
