JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! That's our train -- right on time. It gets there early so the cleaning crew can clean, change the headrest liners & turn the seats around the face the direction we're going. They're very fast & efficient.

We bought our bentos at the station & we're hungry! This is mine -- pork cutlet & sesame rice, with a little cooked cabbage. There's even a place for the lemon wedge, but I'm not sure where to use it . . . Stan got my package of hot mustard. That's a pickled plum on top of my rice & Stan got that too.

He had a spicy beef with a few vegetables & rice. Yes, those are pine nuts on his rice & I took some of those. Yum!

We're already at Yokohama.

Old rice drying & new rice already growing. Rice seems to be a continuous crop all over Japan.
