JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! This is how the grapes are grown. Each bunch has been covered with white mesh. I don't think they use any pesticides here.

These are pione grapes -- big ones that are in season now. Read about them here: http://grocerytrekker.blogspot.com/2008/02/pione-large-black-seedless-grapes.html

We've unwrapped the bunch that we've chosen. We were each issued a pair of scissors to cut the grapes off the vines.

A group sits on mats under the grapes. This was not really an option for me . . .
