Back in Japan

Back on base & looking out the bedroom balcony, things still look the same. Out to sea is my favorite "floating" island. There do seem to be fewer F-18's right now, though.

Looking over our parking lot & to the left of the hangar, progress is being made on the new bowling alley.

Stan in Tokyo

A couple of days after I returned to Japan, Stan had to go to Tokyo for a week-long ET conference at Yokota AFB. I decided to stay in Iwakuni & rest, but Pam & I joined him and Jake for the weekend on base. I was going to do some shopping, but just couldn't get in the mood. I didn't even take any pictures. Guess I was still recuperating. . . But here are his pictures.

Beautiful manhole covers & tile sidewalk inserts in Akihabara section of Tokyo. Stan loves to go there because it's the electronic district & he likes to see what's new. Read more here: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3003.html

Another pretty tile insert in sidewalk.

Stan's having sushi in Tokyo.
Girls from "Maid Cafe" are a new phenomenon in Tokyo. Here they're giving out brochures in Akihabara. Read more here: http://www.tokyoessentials.com/maid-kissa.html
