As we're walking out with our bags (Zama won't allow taxis to come & pick up anyone on base!) we see this sign that we missed the first night we arrived. No one we talked to that night could tell us where the Lodge was located, and it took us a while to find it . . .
The Lodge was on top of a hill, but once we came down that hill, it was all uphill to Gate 4 - where our taxi was waiting for us. It was a long, hot walk. This is very inconvenient . . . thanks Stan, for pulling my bag up the hill!
Leaves & debris from the typhoon.
View from the taxi - passing a beautiful stone torii gate.
On the local train to Shin-Yokohama Station. Not crowded this morning.
At the Shinkanse station. So wait - down is up???
In this station, each track has it's own separate waiting area with seating, shops with souvenirs, drinks, bentos, and even a computer area. Nice.
Stan got a hot coffee & said it was strong & delicious. Click for a closer view - this coffee cup(?) is Rainforest Alliance Certified.
Behind Stan is the shop where the bentos (lunches) are sold.
