It's 6:15 on Sunday morning and we've decided to go to the Hikari market a little earlier than usual. The sun is just coming up over the mountains out in the Seto Inland Sea - looking out the BR balcony.
Gorgeous! I don't see the sunrise very often . . .
By 7:30 we're driving over the Monzen Bridge on our way to Hwy 188 to head south-west toward Yanai.
Some of the lotus has already been harvested, but much is still there. Iwakuni lotus is famous all over Japan.
Headed until the small train tunnel - part of our shortcut to avoid traffic on 188 near the base.
Wow! Gorgeous view over the Seto Inland Sea about 7:45 . . . I love this drive along the sea.
Passing by the Yuu beach area.
We always see this little "mom & pop" vegetable booth on our way & decided to stop this morning. They're always sold out & closed by the time we return.
The table is made out of many bamboo stalks.
Bright canna lilies alongside the highway.
