JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Brief stop in Okayama. We stayed here once with Nancy & Eldon & visited some FABULOUS museums - as well as in nearby Kurashiki. FUN trip . . .

JR 700 series Shinkansen at the station. Aren't they beautiful & sleek? The newest model is more colorful, but we haven't ridden that one yet. These are kept in perfect condition and continuously updated, although they stopped building them in 2006.

Halo building?

Yikes! They've had lots of rain here & there's more on the way . . .

Yummy snacks!

Bright green fields.

Brief stop at Shin-Kobe. You may have heard of Kobe beef . . .

Wow! This really reminds me of Hiroshima!

Looks like the next stop on this train will be Kyoto, then Nagoya, Shin-Yokohama and Shinagawa. But we're getting off at Yokohama. We're riding the Nozomi train today. It makes fewer stops, so that's why we have to change trains in Hiroshima to get on this train. It doesn't stop in Iwakuni.

Cloudy skies in Kyoto . . .
