JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Coming into Hiroshima. It takes less than 15 minutes on the Shin! We have to change trains here because the Nozomi to Tokyo doesn't stop in Iwakuni. But we never have to wait long, and our connecting train is always at the same track.

On the platform at Hiroshima. Once we board here, we can relax all the way to Yokohama.

And here we are in our seats. Not very crowded yet, but it will fill up as we head further north.

The back of my tray-table is loaded with info. We are in Car 5, a no-smoking car with reserved seats, and since we are headed toward Tokyo (toward the right) the restrooms are in front of us at the end of this car.

The train employee who checks tickets. Once he checks ours, he will never bother us again, although we have a long way to go & many people will get on & off before we arrive at our destination.

Misty outside.

Rain, rain go away.

Nice to see no smoking signs in the potty! And with alarms now . . . I didn't get photo of inside, but someone else did & here's the LINK so you can see how HUGE the handicapped bathroom (the one I use) actually is. Also the door is very cool since it's curved and slides to open. And yet another reason we ride the train . . .

One of the (always beautiful!) train attendants passing by with her cart of goodies for sale.

Cloudy day outside, but comfortable in here!

That's the Okayama Dome, but I don't know what's it's used for . . . It always reminds me of a Japanese lantern.

Raining as we pull into Okayama.
