JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! We started with the yummy & beautiful salmon carpaccio - same as we had last time & my new favorite!

I think I could make a meal of this!

And Stan wanted to try oysters with crispy bread. Oops, he's already started . . . wonder how far north they had to go to get oysters this time of year??? They were delicious in a savory sauce.

For his second beer, he chose the Guinness Harp "HARF & HARF" from the menu . . .

Really - see???

Then we shared a generous seafood salad - lots of raw & cooked fresh seafood on crispy dark greens, topped with sparkley gold/green seaweed. Stan got all the purple onions though. And peppers . . .

And this time, we each got our own rack of BBQ ribs. It's not "Dreamland" (in Birmingham) but it's sweet & delicious, and reminded us of home. And this time we got more than 3 fries each - but it's still a very reasonable portion!

There are flat-screen TVs hanging everywhere in this restaurant/bar, but take a look at this fabulous huge screen. I think I would really like to watch Sumo here . . .

The bar . . .

Yum - those ribs look good. I was about to take a bite off the screen. Andy
