JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! I had fried pork chop (tonkatsu) & slaw with sesame dressing. The set came with pickles, soup, rice & sesame seeds for me to grind & mix with sauce to dip the pork in. Yum!

Flowers in front of the restaurant.

Babies' changing area in a rest stop.

Outside this huge rest area. These are always so nice & interesting!

Signs, signs, everywhere signs. Looks like we go left for Amakusa . . .

Beautiful farmland. It's a much warmer climate in Kyushu & already VERY green.

Like many places in Japan, this highway has been carved out of a mountainside & built out to create a cantilevered road.

And the sea is below us on the right side, but we're sitting on the left, inside the bus.

Amazing views as we drive along the edge of the seacoast.

Amakusa is still 48 km . . . We're all getting anxious to arrive!
