JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Inside one of the many bridges.

Wow - how beautiful!

Amakusa City?

Interesting-looking building.

Closer view of one of the windows . . . don't know what it is though.

Billboard showing how easy it is to drive from the mainland over several bridges (5, I believe) to our destination at Amakusa Inlet in Kumamoto Prefecture. (If you zoom out { -} on the map on the preceding link, you will see that we are south of Nagasaki on Kyushu. And be sure to read the info below the map.) Amakusa is a very popular tourist destination & probably why our hotel is an hour & a half drive away in Kumamoto City.

Another bridge . . .

Looks like the tide is out right now.

On top of the last bridge - we're almost to our destination!

And that's the marina we'll be leaving from on our boat ride today.
