JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Stan called this a "double-barrel" tunnel.

Starting down a long (2 km), fairly steep 4.5% grade.

And this one is a curvy, long (3km) 4.5% grade.

Lots of motorcycles out traveling today.

Comfortable inside our big fancy bus, we're watching a movie, but I don't remember which one . . .

Rich farmland. Not sure what the small pink flowers are though. Maybe for honeybees???

And a wide river.

At a rest stop (we stop every 2 hours) I liked the little fur-lined potty seat for toddlers to sit atop the "big" potty . . .

This is our lunch break & the view from our table is very serene.

Stan's having a beef steak special. This area is famous for beef and for horsemeat. His set was brought sizzling on an iron place still cooking with beef & several different veggies, served with soup, rice, dipping sauce & pickles. I tasted the steak & it was delicious!
