JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! There were 3 patient areas on each side of this room with a window at one end, and the door at the opposite end. Stan was in the area closest to the door - Bed #1.

After 5 or 6 days of only liquids and then a few more of just rice "gruel" Stan is thrilled to be eating real food again! Here's a lunch tray that came while I was visiting. By now, he's sitting up on the side of his bed, but there's no room for me . . .

Cabbage and decorative fish paste pieces (the ones with bright pink). Sometimes in restaurants, these are in the shapes of animals or flowers.

Japanese rice (absolutely the best in the world, but you can't buy it - or ship it - outside Japan!)
