JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! People sitting around are amused and enjoying this geisha's dance. Trans-gender performers are completely acceptable here in Japan - not at all unusual.

Back on our bikes, we're heading across the road, and down this steep hill (!!!) to ride to the ropeway building (tram that goes to the top of the mountain). There are nice bathrooms at the tram station that may not be as crowded as the ones near the bridge.

Stone torii gate surrounded by cherries over an arched stone bridge.

Oh - there's the tram.

Dancers in the park near the fountain. That's the tram building behind, surrounded by cherries.
