JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! People were coming from all over the festival area to sort their trash into these receptacles under the car bridge. This is the only trash area we saw today. When you eat at a booth, you can give your trash back to the vendor as well.

Little boy climbing a cherry tree. People come early in the morning to lay down their blue tarp to save their place for their family or group hanami (eating & drinking under the cherries.)

Cute little girl.

Lots of people walking under a canopy of cherry blossoms.

Interesting geisha in traditional dress and wig dancing on a raised platform. A Japanese man told us she was geisha, but "maybe not a woman - maybe a man." I think he was right.
