Hakuho leaves the stadium to audience applause.
"After the last bout of the day, the yumi-tori (bow twirling) ceremony is performed by a makushita-ranked (highest rank) rikishi (sumo wrestler) from the same stable as a Yokozuna (Grand Champion, who is Hakuho at this time). True fans of the sport will not leave their seats until this ritual is performed." So of course, we did not . . . The stadium is clearing out quickly and the dohyo (clay platform) has already been dampened and covered to prevent it from drying & cracking more.
