JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Huge cucumbers for sale - local produce - inside the gift shop.

Summer sunflower decorations hang from the lower part of the ceiling in the gift shop area.

And birds . . .

A pot of fresh sunflowers graces the seating area near the rest rooms.

The whole back wall is glass and looks out onto a garden area with outdoor tables. Outside here is where the wild boars live in cages, but we're not visiting them today.

Outside the building, Stan bought some kind of BBQ meat on a stick from this vendor. It smelled delicious!

Grape vines in the garden in front of the rest area.

The grapes are bagged to protect them from . . . maybe us?

A kudzu covered tunnel entrance & hillside.

Bright green fields of rice. When it begins to ripen, it turns golden on top.
