JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! The brewery is located in Saijo City, so we're almost there!

And here we are.

Inside the 2-story lobby looking up at the second floor mezzanine. . .

Oh that's REALLY a long escalator - more than two floors . . . but at least it went slowly.

This was our Asahi guide for the tour. Everything was in Japanese, but she read an English translation to describe everything we saw. She seemed a bit nervous, but she did a great job & really tried to answer all our questions. We were not allowed to take pictures inside the factory area. We were actually walking a floor above & looking down through glass into the brewery - very cool. Of course it was spotless & beautifully automated . . . although it was Saturday, so it was not in production today.

I took pictures of our handout in case you wanted more info about Asahi Beer. They're VERY proud of all their energy-conscious business practices. And you can also click & read more from this Asahi link RIGHT HERE!
