It's around 8:30 AM Sunday & we're headed to Hikari for the monthly flea market. The drive is about an hour or so, but we always stop in Yanai at McDonald's for potty & coffee. It's not raining here, but very cloudy as we drive over the Monzen bridge on MCAS Iwakuni.
Driving out the Monzen Gate. See the low clouds over the mountains?
I was surprised to see the lotus is all the way grown & even a few blooms! I thought they didn't bloom until late August, but I've never been here in late June . . .
Out on Hwy 188 heading toward Yanai. The local train is on the right side of the highway here, but it crosses back and forth as we drive along the Seto Inland Sea.
Signs, signs, everywhere signs!
This highway sign tells us that Hikari is 50 km & Yanai only 29 km.
This ship-shaped building alongside the Inland Sea on 188 has finally re-opened, but it's not a restaurant as we thought it might be. It's an exercise-sports store!
Oh it's raining harder now! This doesn't look good for the outdoor market . . .
Cute car in front of us. Can you see it's name?
It's a "Latte" - and just about the right color for one.
