JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! As the sun sets, more and more people are joining us along this peaceful river bank. The water is calmer now & the bridge makes a perfect reflection in the river.

Fire boats in a row along the far shoreline. These are for cormorant fishing, a traditional way of fishing using cormorant birds. The lights attract the fish.

Megan visited with us for a while with her parents. She & her mom are going to carry lanterns & walk across the bridge, so she's very excited!

And another cute little girl in kimono walks nearby.

Looking across at the big onsen hotel. More folks are gathering below us along the river.

The sun is gone, but a bridge spotlight has come on. There's a big camera waiting for the light show.

Stan's wearing his cool "sweat rag" around his head - very Japanese!

Behind us, the music, fashions & laser light show continues.
