JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Stan's sashimi dinner set includes a little of everything.

As does my tempura dinner set.

Look at this yummy soup with healthful seaweed.

I've walked into the main lobby of the hotel for the restroom (toire'). I love this sink & interestingly shaped mirror that's lighted from behind the wall.

Inside the stall is a very fancy toilet set-up that hotels usual have.

On the wall is a panel that controls this fancy toilet/bidet. The button top left shows a speaker - it provides an electronic flushing sound, but no water involved. I call it the "modesty flush." The blue one on the right is the actual water flush. Other buttons below control water intensity & temp for front or back spray . . . and at the very bottom is a clock. Good thing because sometimes I stay too long . . . I LOVE these toilets!

Back out in the covered mall.

Margie (me!) in front of a window with fancy kimono - hmm, I look rather shabby . . . Notice the decorations of pink & blue origami cranes on the back wall?

They are quite large & handmade of paper, then strung with matching colored ribbon & taped to the wall.

Outside on the street walking back to our hotel. A VERY large pink rose bush is in full bloom in the park. It smells wonderful!
