JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Old stone lantern.

And a different style of stone lantern.

New friend Linda suggested this shot looking from underneath a Japanese maple. Beautiful!

Looking across the lake & stone curved bridge.

Little blurry, but the only iris we found that was still in bloom . . .

Stan & Linda waiting for a streetcar in Hiroshima.

Downtown Hiroshima.

Jack & Linda join us in a "Kampai!" for a well-earned rest & ice-cold beer at Molly Malone's! After dinner, we parted ways & bid farewell to our new friends.

After riding the streetcar back to Hiroshima Station and another 50-min local train ride back to Iwakuni, we're riding our bikes back from Iwakuni Station to the base (about 15-20 min ride.) I love riding back home in the quiet, cool evening after a fun day! We're waiting for a train to pass at our shortcut to the pedestrian bridge . . .

Just inside the MCAS Main Gate, we see the static display of the Commander's jet - all lit up - nice landmark!
