Heading for the bridge - the marina is just beyond.
And there is it. I think the boat was going a little slower on the return trip - no seasickness!
Bright hand-painted boats in the marina.
One last look back at our boat at the pier & the bridge beyond.
After a few minutes' potty & souvenir shopping, it's time to board our bus for the 1-1/2 hour drive to our hotel in Kumamoto. Our tour bus has the famous Kintai Bridge painted on each side, so we got a lot of attention from passersby during our trip, especially since we were SO far from Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, where we live.
Beautiful view from atop the bridge as we start our drive back inland. We have several more bridges to cross and a long drive along the seacoast before we head inland toward Kumamoto.
Natural stone shoreline.
And it looks like the shoreline is being filled here to create more land.
Octopus restaurant?
Beautiful abrupt seacoast views . . . As we return, I'm sitting on the coast side of the bus, so you will just have to indulge me. And I really deleted hundreds of photos!
