JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Closer look at these beautifully polished stone tables & stools. I'd love a set like this!

And a wild boar also lives back here! (Boar is my Japanese zodiac sign.) About once a year, our friend Hiroko brings us a package of boar meat from her husband's hunting expeditions into the mountains around their home. Delicious - like the best ham/pork you've ever eaten . . .

This boar is interested in us as well. He has a large area in which to roam around, but I imagine he misses the freedom of mountain life.

Can you see those long eyelashes? This boar looks sedate, but they can be very ferocious. I'm glad there's a fence . . .
