Close view of purple & white pansies outside the shop . . . In a few more months, there will be thousands of water iris blooming in & around these open canals. I'd love to see that - Tsuwano is very famous for their iris.
Break time & I'm having iced coffee & tirimisu inside the shop - yummy! And served on the beautiful little washi-paper covered bamboo plates that are sold in this shop. There were tourists here, but not NEARLY as many as the last time we came. Tourism is really suffering . . .

Oh, today we found a chef making some of the famous Tsuwano bean cakes by hand. Usually, we see huge mechanical contraptions making them en masse! So I started taking pictures to capture this special event. One section is already cooking on this hot griddle.
Now he's pouring batter into a utensil that will evenly spread it onto the hot surface.
