JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Steam engine in the sidewalk (without its passenger).

Yikes! I'm riding across the river on this narrow pedestrian bridge. There are some museums & shops we want to see on the other side.

Looking back across the bridge. From here I can see the castle ruins up on top of that hillside. Don't know if there is an easier way to get there, but maybe next time . . . ?

Closer view of the castle ruins. This may be the only castle town that we've been to where the castle has not been rebuilt. Look how clear the sky is right now!

Outside the Mori Ogai museum. Mr. Mori was a very famous physician, translator, novelist, and poet who was from Tsuwano. Outside, this dog is very patiently - and quietly - waiting for his master.
