JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Inside a souvenir shop that's away from the main tourist area. There was no one manning the shop, but I could hear voices coming from the back somewhere (where it was warmer, no doubt). Everyone is so trusting here in Japan . . .

Outside another shop where we bought some local treats for Stan's Japanese/English students. Even though it's cold outside, most shops are completely open when they're open . . . but this one (like many) had a stove where you could warm up & drink hot tea.

This shop was built in front of (and looks like it's connected to) this beautiful old house. I'm guessing the store owner lives in the house.

It's winter, but there are many flowers still blooming along the sidewalks and in gardens.

I love these bamboo flower pots. I have some like this at home.
