Eleborate gate (from the stairs we just came up) from inside the shrine area. Rather than going IN through the gigantic doors, you simply walk around!
Looking down into the parking lot where we parked when we drove up here a few years ago. We came during the New Year's holidays (after Christmas) and it was VERY crowded then.
This is the sacred Taikodani-Inari Jinja that is famous all over Japan, as one of the Five Great Inari shrines, built in 1773, and beautifully maintained. One of Stan's students visits here every New Year's holiday with her family.
Stan looking out at the view of Tsuwano below near the gate where came up.
This building sells souvenirs and prayer items.
