JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Wow - terrific view of the smoking volcano from upstairs in the museum. We're going up there soon on a ropeway tram.

We watched a brief movie about Mt Aso area, filmed from helicopters on a 5-section screen that is 4 meters high (13 feet), 30 meters wide (98.4 feet), and 170-degree curvature. Sugoi! (amazing!) But a couple of times, I had to close my eyes to keep from getting "seasick" - it was VERY real . . . Then we found a seismograph with a sign that said "Jump!! So, we did.

Yikes! This was just the 2 of us . . .

Downstairs, I saw this beautiful stained glass lamp that I would love to have! Flying fish?

Look at the snake at the base . . .
