JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Walking toward the edge of the smoking active volcano, Nakadake, which stands 1700 meters (5,557 feet) high. We were driven by bus, and rode the ropeway tram the rest of the way.

I like the irony of this sign - right here!

Wow! Beautiful color inside.

Some of our group at the edge of the active volcano.

Little boy coming out of one of the protection bunkers to be used when the volcano decides to spit up more than just steam! Hopefully, we won't need to use one today . . .
