JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! We tried to eat lunch at Sicily Maple City restaurant, but there was an hour's waiting list, so we took this narrow 2-lane road behind it, to see if we could find another way back to Hwy 2. See how it drops off the left side? I don't like roads like this!

Oops - up above is where we want to be, but the road for cars has ended so we have to turn around - yikes! (this is when I usually want to get out & walk . . .)

Still on Hwy 2 almost to Otake. That's a long freight train to our left, and the traffic doesn't seem as heavy now.

On the back of a Japanese car: "Freedom isn't free"

Thoughtful shopping carts lined with "puddle pads" for your doggy. We're going inside Nishimura Joy store to buy grass for Sachi. She likes to have a little salad occasionally. Afterward, we went into the food court at You Me Town for lunch, but no pictures . . .

This bridge is the dividing line from Hiroshima Prefecture back into Yamaguchi Prefecture, as we head back home. There's still a lot of traffic coming from Iwakuni. Think maybe they know something we don't???
