JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Lots of whitecaps still on the Seto Inland Sea as we drive home in late afternoon. All those electric wires are for the local train that runs beside the highway, just below the road.

Oh - this is the night of the Autumnal Equinox - and it's a beautiful harvest moon over the sea & the mountains, seen from my bedroom window, facing the runway & sea beyond. The full moon won't fall exactly on Autumn Equinox again until 2029!

Big full moon. The Japanese see a rabbit in the moon . . . and next year - 2011 - is the Year of the Rabbit.

After it gets darker, I can see Jupiter lower & to the right. It will be another 12 years until Jupiter is this close again. Interested in more info? Read MORE HERE!
