JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! After about an hour's ride on the local JR train, we're back outside Iwakuni Station at the free bicycle parking. This stairway with a ramp is so you can take your bike upstairs (and back down) if all the parking is full on the main level, where we were lucky enough to find places to park earlier today.

Stan in the narrow corridor of the bike parking.

Riding home in the fresh night air. I always love this part! After sitting on the train for a while, it feels good to get out, move around & see, hear & smell Japan!

Lights on the river.

A few blocks from the main gate & cars are parked along this street where there are usually none. They're lined up & actually spending the night in their cars so they can get into the air station for Friendship Day tomorrow - yikes!
