JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Inside Polar Bear. After we got our gelato, we noticed that we were the only customers. They were closing when we arrived, but of course were too polite to tell us. We offered to leave & eat our gelato outside, but the worker insisted we stay . . .

Out on the narrow street walking toward the streetcar.

It's pretty crowded this afternoon.

The sun is going down as we arrive at Hiroshima Station. It's a holiday week in Japan - Golden Week - so lots of people are traveling around.

We decided to eat at McDonald's at the station. Stan had never tried the "Filet-o-Ebi" (shrimp sandwich) so it seemed like a good time. It's OK and actually made up of many little fresh shrimps, but I like regular Japanese food better!
