JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! It's time for afternoon tea, so we're now in Ruman -- our favorite pastry shop. Look at all the Easter decorations.

Looking through the window into the kitchen. See the bowls of eggs with golden yolks? Those are fresh Japanese eggs, and the only ones I buy now. Everything sold here is made fresh -- from scratch -- in this little kitchen. It's fun to watch, but better to taste . . .

Stan got a slice of a jelly-roll type cake with strawberries, which are in season right now.

I decided on my standard dark chocolate mousse (and Nancy & Eldon had the same). Although it takes a LOT of self-control, I always eat the fruit first, or it won't taste as sweet & ripe as I know it is.
It's still early, but I have to rush home to catch the last day of the March sumo tournament today.
