JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! The party started to break up, so we left with Hiroshi to head for the streetcar, when he asked if we'd like to sing karaoke. Sounded good to us, so off we went! I thought this statue of a tanuki outside a restaurant/bar in Hiroshima was picture-worthy. Read about tanuki here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanuki You may be in for a surprise (adult supervision suggested!)

After some direction-asking (apparently Japanese men don't mind asking), we finally found Hiroshi's favorite place, and this shows us (Margie & Stan) inside the small karaoke room. See how happy we are? I decided not to drink anything else but water for the rest of the night . . .

Although Hiroshi's wife, Eiko had warned him not to dance -- because someone would have to call an ambulance -- he could not help himself! This lovely young lady who worked there, sat down & attended to us for part of our time there. She admired my hair & asked me if I wore a hairpiece. I think that was a compliment . . .
