JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Margie & FS wanted to climb this very big, very old cherry tree. That's the famous bridge behind them.

Stan (Round Stanley?) & Flat Stanley near the Kintai Bridge in Iwakuni. This is one of the most famous bridges in all of Japan & was originally built in 1673. It has washed away & been rebuilt many times, but always exactly like the original. It is very good luck to walk across it, but because it is arched, it has lots of steps. FS wanted to pose alone in front of the bridge. All these bare cherry trees will be in full bloom in a few weeks!
