Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! . . . and in the daytime.

These fresh pine needles (matsu) were a gift from one of my chigerie ladies. She has a huge pine tree in her yard, and she brought bundles for everyone in class. Fresh pine represents longivity and is used to decorate for New Year's (the biggest holiday of the year in Japan.) Read more about it here: http://japanese.about.com/library/weekly/aa052100.htm?nl=1

Bob gets in the Christmas spirit . . .
