This plate was made from fresh parsley, tomatoes & asparagus, with pork. It was delicious!
The portions are now well browned and cooked through, so Eiko adds the brown okonomiyaki sauce and mayo. I never ate much mayo before we came to Japan, but there's just something so delicious about Japanese mayo!
They are all decorated and ready to eat! After the mayo, dried bonito fish flakes are added, then chopped green seaweed. The Japanese add protein to everything they can, so both of these "decorations" are loaded with pure protein. Yum -- what a great & delicious dinner. After this course, we had Eiko's chicken soup with carrots & turnips in a tasty broth, but I was almost too full . . . almost.
